 All new Volvo XC60

The Volvo XC60 is Volvo's first luxury compact SUV that was revealed earlier this year at the acclaimed Geneva Motorshow.

Classy Interior
While it is classified as compact, it is far from compact on the inside. It cleverly uses its interior space where it provides ample head and leg room in the front and the back. When you slide into the seats and close the door, a assuring solid thud gives the impression of bank vault quality.

The dash now has a more driver orientated feel with the centre console slanted towards the driver. Many of the surfaces have quality soft touch materials that give a feeling of prestige. The ambience is very upmarket and puts the Volvo XC60 as a very good alternative to the large SUV’s on offer from the competition.

Far from Boxy Exterior
Design is one of the other strengths of the XC60. It has a very athletic, ready to pounce stance that is a far cry from the days of old where boxy was the theme.
The overall look is a bold and upmarket with its clever taillight design and lighting technology as well as the parking lights located between the headlights and grill. It gives the XC60 a unique look while still being part of the Volvo family.

How does it Drive?
We have not had the opportunity to sample a drive of the all new XC60, however the Volvo chassis engineers have worked very hard to improve the way it drives. It will be more nimble on the road than expected and will have a sporty feel. A test drive is a must once it arrives!

Safety? It is a Volvo..
Make no bones about it. The Volvo XC60 is the safest car Volvo has ever built. And Volvo are proud of this fact, as one of Volvo's strongest traits has been safety. The XC60 adds another element in this with some advanced features as well as some new, clever crash avoidance technology. It’s called “City Safety”. It uses sensors mounted on top of the windscreen giving it vision of the road, and once it senses that no brakes have been applied when there is a stationary or moving (up to 15km/h), it automatically applies the brakes.
The reason for this system is that most accidents occur at less than 30km/h. While it is not a life saver, it will help reduce minor accidents with a view to improving your insurance premiums.
